In a neighborhood close to the hospitals, the Duluth Family Practice Center stands as a heart of the residency.  The Family Practice Center models the broad practice of most graduates.  The experienced full-time faculty is supplemented by over two dozen regional physicians who come to precept in team with a variety of mental health professionals. 

The building underwent a major renovation and expansion totaling more than $2.7 million.  Patient services were increased to two levels of clinic area.  The first level includes the main reception area (and children's space), business office, social services, nurses' station, 11 exam rooms, a special procedure room, x-ray, laboratory, resident work area, and precepting room.

The second level of patient care includes a second reception area (and children's space), diabetes services (recognized by the ADA for excellence), full-range counseling services, colposcopy room, stress test room, nurses' station, 12 exam rooms, a special procedure room, resident work areas, and precepting room.

The third level is home to the residency program and its related administrative offices, resident work areas, resident computer room, medical records department, and the conference room and library.
